Mission: The MISSION is to contribute to the institutional development of the Health Services Sector by working synergistically with all the actors that make up the sector, especially with small and medium sized providers, trying to contribute from the academic field in the different aspects to make them reach the socially necessary level in the provision of the services they are responsible for.
Vision: It intends to become a regional reference in the development of the Sector, mainly based on its studies of the problems and its contribution to the improvement of the level of effectiveness of the organizations of the System. This would fundamentally occur from its contribution to the improvement of its global performance and focusing efforts towards socially relevant ends, such as health, environment, inclusion and equity.

The following data gives a quick reading on the scientific performance in the last years. The research ranking refers to the volume, impact and quality of the institution's research output.
