Mission: the AOP as an instrumental body of the Regional Health Service (SSSR) and in line with the guidelines of the PSSR, contributes to guarantee basic assistance for the communities of the Padua territory and guarantees assistance with high complexity and high technological content in the provincial, regional, national and international context as hub for the Province of Padua and Regional Reference Centre for the functions determined by the regional planning. The AOP, as the reference centre for the UNIPD School of Medicine and Surgery, guarantees the integration of the assistance, teaching and research activities, contributing to the achievement of the University's goals also through the enhancement of the staff undergoing training. The AOP organizes and manages care and clinical research activities both directly and through the governance of the integrated clinical networks provided by the regional planning, promoting the transfer of the knowledge acquired through clinical research, the evaluation and adoption of new technologies and the implementation of innovative management models.
Vision: The strategic vision of the AOP is that of a company oriented to: achieve full integration in the SSSR, contributing with the other Health Authorities, as well as with other institutional and non-institutional subjects, to the provision of assistance to individuals, families and communities; to play the institutional role, assigned by the PSSR, of "Regional Reference Company", in the field of high specialty, teaching, research and management and technological innovation. This is guaranteed by the integrated system of advanced skills allowed by the synergy with the University and requires, at the level of annual regional planning, the definition of activities and new funding models consistent with the assigned function; to consolidate and develop the role of the AOP as a node of the national and international welfare and scientific network in order to compare and transfer experiences, as well as to represent a pole of attraction for patients and professionals; to promote the growth and development of other healthcare realities, especially in disadvantaged areas of the world; to develop, in accordance with the provisions of the PSSR, in synergy with UNIPD and the Veneto Region, a new model of integration between AOP and University.
