Mission: Research Missionbasic and applied researches in nanoscience and nanotechnology, aims to become a world-leading research center, as well as public technological platform and young talents training center in the field, and to act as an important bridge for international academic exchange and collaboration. Always striving for rapid and sustainable development of nanoscience and technology in China, NCNST also seeks to promote the standardization and normalization of nanotechnology for ensuring the flourish of our country’s nanotechnology-based industry. NCNST is dedicated to Education Mission The specific goals of our graduate programs are to educate and train students in Nanoscience and Nanotechnology disciplines, and teach these same students the broad interdisciplinary knowledge and technology skills necessary to become the future leaders in this rapidly emerging Nanoscience and technology revolution.

The following data gives a quick reading on the scientific performance in the last years. The research ranking refers to the volume, impact and quality of the institution's research output. The innovation ranking is calculated on the number of patent applications of the institution and the citations that its research output receives from patents. Finally, the societal ranking is based on the number of pages of the institution's website and the number of backlinks and mentions from social networks.
