Foundation: 1957

Mission: INSA Lyon's mission is to provide initial and continuing training for highly qualified engineers in an international context for all branches of industry, for scientific and industrial research laboratories and for public services. It contributes to the training of trainers and to professional higher education in the context of initial and further training. It provides training courses which are sanctioned by national post-graduate diplomas which it is authorised to award or by institutional diplomas. INSA Lyon's mission is also to conduct fundamental and applied research in the scientific and technical fields. It contributes to the valorization of the results obtained, to the dissemination of scientific and technical information, to international and industrial cooperation and participates in the construction of the European training and research area. It contributes to the dissemination of scientific, technical and industrial culture and humanist culture, through the development of human and social sciences, arts and letters, languages and sport.
